Isn't hiring Filipino VA's exploitative?
While it is true that hiring Filipino VAs can be exploitative, and I have heard horror stories about very low pay and long and difficult hours, we are committed to ensuring that our clients are educated and guided towards offering a fair and sustainable wage to their virtual assistants. In fact, one of the main reasons I started this service was to create work opportunities for Filipinos that are fair and just.
Isn't hiring people from another country stealing jobs from people in my country?
I don't see it that way. For most people, the cost of hiring in their own country is prohibitive. As a result, business owners may delay hiring anyone, which can impede the success of their business. Hiring a lower cost assistant sooner can actually increase the chances of the business owner being more successful sooner, which can ultimately benefit their local economy as they can now afford to hire more people. That's how I've seen it play out, more often than not.
Is the quality of Filipino Virtual Assistants really on par with local office workers?
In my experience, yes. While I was initially attracted to Filipinos because of their lower wage costs, it was their loyalty, hard work, dedication, and strong work ethic that convinced me they were a better hire. I have some VAs that I placed over 6 years ago who are still enthusiastically serving. Another thing to beware of is the high cost of staff turnover.
